ICC U 19 World Cup 2022 Champion: India won the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2022 title by defeating England by 4 wickets in the final played at the Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua on Saturday.
India has won this title for the record fifth time. Before Yash Dhul, India won the Under-19 World Cup under the captaincy of Mohammad Kaif (2000), Virat Kohli (2008), Unmukt Chand (2012), Prithvi Shaw (2018).
India won the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2022 title by defeating England by 4 wickets in the final played on Saturday. India won the Under-19 World Cup for a record fifth time. The hero of India’s victory was Raj Bawa, who performed brilliantly all-rounder and first took five wickets and then contributed a crucial 35 runs in the batting. He scored 252 runs in the entire tournament and also took 9 wickets.
Raj Bawa’s family has been associated with sports for a long time. His grandfather, Late Tarlochan Singh Bawa, was an eminent hockey player and was part of the Indian team that won gold in the 1948 London Olympics. He also became the captain of the team in the year 1952. Apart from this, Raj Bawa’s father has been the coach of India’s legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh. It was Sukhwinder Bawa who had trained Yuvraj in cricket in his early days.
Let us inform that India won the first Under-19 World Cup in the year 2000, in which Yuvraj played an important role. Yuvraj was the man of the series in that Under-19 World Cup due to his all-rounder performance.
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah announced on Sunday (February 6) that each player of the Indian team that wins the Under-19 World Cup 2022 will get Rs 40 lakh as a reward. Let us inform that the Indian team led by Yash Dhul defeated England by 4 wickets in the final to win the Under-19 World Cup title for the record fifth time.
Shah also said that each member of the support staff will get Rs 25 lakh.
Shah tweeted, “BCCI will give Rs 40-40 lakh to each player of the Under-19 team who won the title by performing brilliantly in the Under 19 World Cup and Rs 25-25 lakh to the support staff. You have made India proud.”
